Minden is a town in the northeastern part of the German federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The town is crossed by the Weser flowing north.
Visited Minden to find out more about the battle which occurred on 1 Aug 1759, which was a decisive battle in the 7 years war on the European continent. The museum is well worth a visit but I would combine the visit with a trip to the Kaiser Wilhelm memorial on the Minden ridge.
Minden is located at one of the most frequented cycling routes of Europe: the Weser Cycling Route. Thousands of cyclists and tourists visit the town each year. The town is also known for its cultural events.
